UNIBEN full-time and part-time diploma programmes Admission Requirements 2016/2017

University of Benin, UNIBEN has released the admission requirements for full-time and part-time diploma programmes admission for the 2016/2017 academic session. The courses available for the diploma full-time and part-time programmes and the various admission requirements are available for the 2016/2017 academic session

Courses Available For The Full-Time And Its Admission Requirements 2016/2017

Here are the full-time courses available with the various requirements needed for admission for the 2016/2017 academic session;

1. Institute of Public Administration & Extension Services

  • Diploma in Health Administration and Management (DHAM)
  • Diploma in Nursing Administration and Management (DNAM)
  • Diploma in Primary Health Care and Statistics (DPHCS)

Admission Requirements

Here are the admission requirements needed for UNIBEN Diploma Programme admission into the Institute of Public Administration & Extension Services;
1. A University degree in Medicine, Nursing, Hospital Administration or any of the Medical Sciences.
2. Professional Certificates in Nursing: Nigeria Registered Nurse (NRN), Registered Nurse (RN), or Midwife: State Registered Midwife (SRM), Registered Midwife (RM), in addition to at least, five (5) years qualification experience.
3. A professional qualification in Hospital/Health Administration or Public Health in addition to a minimum of one-year experience in Health Services administrative work.
4. At least four Ordinary level credits passes in WASC, WAEC, SSCE/GCE, NECO SSCE  at not more than two sittings or at least four (4) credit passes in Teacher’s Grade II Certificate Examinations (TC.II). The subjects should include English Language and Mathematics.

2. Diploma Programme in Maritime Studies, Information And Communication

Admission Requirements

Here is the admission requirement for Diploma in Maritime Studies And Communications;
1. Credit in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and any other subject at GCE/WASE/SSCE/NABTEB/NECO.
Lectures will take place from Monday to Friday between the hours of 2.00 and 6.00pm. Students will undertake and pass a three-month compulsory industrial training period.

Course Available For The Part-Time And Its Admission Requirements 2016/2017

Here is the only course available for part-time admission for the UNIBEN diploma programme for the 2016/2017 academic session;

1. Institute of Child Health, College of Medical Sciences

  •  Certificate Course In Early Child Health / Development

Admission Requirements

Here are the admission requirements for a certificate cpourse in early child health/development;
1. Candidates should have at least four (4) credits in WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE, NECO SSCE at not more than two (2) sittings.  Credits in English Language and two Science subjects and a Pass in Mathematics.
2. Teachers with National Certificate in Education (NCE), TC II on at least Merit level, owners of preparatory schools such as Proprietors/proprietress of Crèches/ Day Care and others who possess other relevant qualifications from recognized institutions in Nigeria.
3. Candidates can be a Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife [RN/RM] Certificates, Dental Nursing; Registered Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW) Certificate, Community Health Officers (CHO), etc.
4. candidates can have a certificates from established Health Professional Institutions such as the Institute and Schools of Health Technology/ Institute of Health Information. Such Certificates include Diploma in Audiology, Plaster Technology, etc.
5. Candidates can have a Diploma in Social Work (DSW) or other relevant professional qualifications.
